Please find below the scheduled tea alarms for Friday 16th July 2026. This is the time that tea should be served, therefore please allow good time for water to be boiled, and tea brewing to be commenced before service.
Please ensure that you have an adequate supply of milk, sugar and sweetener to hand, recognising that milk may spoil quicker in warmer weather if left out of the fridge for a prolonged period of time, or if delivered in glass bottles to the doorstep. It is also advisable to provide biscuits or other suitable accompaniments. As no tea alarms scheduled for this date specifically occur during the hours of 2PM and 6PM, there is no need for a supplementary ‘Afternoon Tea Spread’ service. Please see below for advice pertaining to rolling news based developments.

For those whom keeps abreast with political comings and goings, whilst Parliament is officially in recess, there may be an extended need for tea consumption whilst Andrew Burnham forms what is known in British Politics as a Cabinet. ** This process can take hours or days, and updates will be provided as necessary. It is advised to watch Sky News / BBC News for up to the minute information, and plan tea consumption accordingly, as well as the provision of biscuits and other tea accompaniments. Whilst normally tradition to have an ‘afternoon tea’ for any tea related alarm between the hours of 2PM and 6PM UK time, this can be ignored due to the uncertainty of timings.
Whilst not time specific, it is still advised for the next few days to consume one cup of tea, preferably with a biscuit before calling into any talk radio show to discuss football related activities. The BBC in particular have been advised to confirm such activity has taken place before allowing anyone on air. This follows on from advice provided on the 16th and 17th July 2026.
Please be advised that more in depth guidance on preparing for, and responding to a tea alarm (both scheduled and unscheduled), will be provided over the coming weeks.
* Larry, Chief Mouser to the Cabinet will be unable to provide tea services to the Press Corps due to the moving of belongings in and out of Downing Street. There is a Wetherspoon pub based approximately 500M away which will provide a ‘takeaway’ tea service for those in desperate need. Alternatively Sophie Ridge can be cloned for a 6th time to assist in such duties (We know your game Sky News!).
**For foreigners, please understand that this is a physical cabinet, which previously was the gateway to Narnia, before being captured by the British Empire.
