We would like to take this opportunity to wish you a warm welcome to the official homes of the Great British Tea Alarm, a vital and unique aspect of British life and society. In an ever changing world, the Great British Tea Alarm has remained a vital constant in daily life, ensuring community cohesion in some of our most important hour(s) of need, as well as ensuring that everyone has access to a cup of tea in a safe and calm environment when events elsewhere may be causing chaos and confusion.

Whilst not ‘formally’ writing into UK law, British courts have upheld the importance to adhering to the ‘Tea Alarm’ process, the detailed instructions for which are provided on this website for your perusal. Whilst the Great British Tea Alarm may have started off as a simple community project, the economic, social and societal benefits have helped ensure that this tradition remains as relevant today as when tea, and subsequently the Great British ‘Cuppa’ were first introduced to these shores.

At the end of the month, we wrap up with a special live session to reflect on the book before moving on to the next one.

Do I need to be an active participant to join?

Not at all! You can engage as much or as little as you like. Whether you prefer reading along quietly, sharing your thoughts in the comments, or joining our live discussions, Booknest welcomes all kinds of readers.
